Modern melbourne CBD wedding at Metropolis

Wedding of Jen and Darren

Jen and Darren had to reschedule their wedding several times due to covid, finally they were married last May in a flower filled Melbourne CBD celebration. Metropolis, with it’s fabulous city views, was an obvious choice as a venue for this modern couple.

Being the siter to Kath from Bow creative certainly gave Jen an inside line when it came to having a stylish wedding with loads of attention to detail. Hints of Blue accented the classic green and white pallet and the tables had an abundance of flowers and textural elements. Wanting to reflect the seasons we used branches, black privot berry and tulips to create wonderful textured floral garlands. Adding height and dimension to the tablescape there were black table top towers with modern floral adornments. Stacks of stone, ceramic bud vases and black candlesticks added interesting details to the elegant table setting.

Having a wow factor hanging floral installation was on the top of Jen’s shopping list and we set to create a gigantic organic shaped floral chandelier. Measuring 8 x 2 meters this monstrous display hung above the guests as they danced the night away. When Kath gave me the brief, she said she wanted a curvy shape similar to the Nike tick, this was such an amazing challenge for us having not built anything like it before. With our team halved due to covid we enlisted the help of the stylists setting the tables for the day. It was a huge team effort, and we are so proud of how it turned out and so thankful for the help we had.

Jen and Darren’s wedding was featured on Ivory Tribe, see it here.

“All I can say is WOW! The florals at our wedding were stunning and went above and beyond what we could have imagined. Zoe and her team did an amazing job and she really outdid herself with our show stopping hanging floral installation. Everything fit our theme and brief perfectly. Zoe was lovely to chat to and super understanding with all of our delays and changes. We can’t thank her enough.”
